What To Expect

De-conditioned adults aged over 80 can improve strength by roughly 22–26% in just eight weeks of progressive resistance training. Substantial, measurable strength gains, with improvements in standing, stairs, balance and confidence often appear within the first few weeks.

Age 85+: ~45% increase in leg strength and ~11% increase in quadriceps size after 12 weeks of progressive resistance training. — Marzuca-Nassr et al., Journal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle, 2024.

Ages 85–97: 37–48% increase in strength after 12 weeks of resistance training; quadriceps size increased about 10%. - Kryger & Andersen, Scandinavian Journal of Medicine & Science in Sports, 2007.

Over 80: twice-weekly training produces early neural gains in weeks 1–2 and measurable strength gains by weeks 3–4, using controlled, stable resistance work.

Frail adults around age 90 increased strength by an average of 174% after eight weeks of properly designed resistance training.

Fall Prevention

Learn to both fall safely and get up independently with technique rather than brut strength. We’ll work on your balance to prevent tumbles and keep you sturdy as you navigate obstacles on the floor, and step up stairs.
