Membership Agreement
PQB Athletic Policies
These Membership Terms are here to keep things clear and consistent for everyone. PQB Athletic reserves the right to apply these policies as reasonably intended. If something isn't covered or there's confusion, we’ll refer to this written document as our reference point in how things work.
-
During the Trial Membership, if another Trial Member trains within 15 minutes of your recurring appointment in the same neighbourhood, both Account Holders receive $15 off every weekly session.
-
Every new Member begins with a 12 week Trial Membership. The rate is $136 plus GST per weekly reserved 60 minute session. Both options reserve the same recurring weekly appointment for 12 weeks. Choose the payment method that best suits your lifestyle.
Option A - Pay in Full
$1,632 plus GST, payable by e-Transfer before your first session.
Best for Members who know they can commit to their weekly appointment, want one payment with nothing further owing, prefer the convenience of paying once and family funded or corporate memberships, not paid by the participant.
Things to Consider:
Missed sessions are forfeited.
No refunds or credits are provided for appointments you don’t attend.
Option B — Weekly Trial Payment
$432 plus GST by e-Transfer before your first session and $100 cash paid directly to your trainer only for the weeks you attend.
The $432 covers the remaining $36 per session across your twelve-week Trial Membership.
Best for Members establishing a new routine, want flexibility while deciding whether the weekly appointment fits their schedule, are coordinating with invited participants to their session; or anticipate occasional scheduling conflicts.
Things to Consider:
If you miss a session, your $100 cash payment for that week is not payable. Only the prepaid portion for that week's appointment is forfeited (30%/$36). This covers your assigned trainers time block for your booked session.
This option reduces the financial impact of occasional missed sessions while you establish a consistent routine before moving into Active Membership, which is lower priced but comes with 100% forfeiture for missed sessions.
-
Following the Trial Membership, Members may continue with an Active Membership at the reduced rate of $121 per weekly 60 minute reserved appointment.
$1,452 plus GST for 12 consecutive weeks, payable in full by e-Transfer prior to commencement.
Priority booking for preferred appointment times and trainers.
Because the Active Membership is purchased as a complete package, missed appointments are forfeited.
-
$425 plus GST annually for four 60-minute in-home maintenance visits. Unused maintenance visits may be credited toward a future Active Membership.
-
Payment of any Membership Fee confirms that the Account Holder has read, understood and accepted these Membership Terms & Conditions on behalf of themselves and every participant attending under their membership.
-
PQB Athletic operates as a recurring weekly membership built around a reserved appointment, not individual personal training sessions.
Each membership reserves one 60 minute appointment every week for 12 consecutive weeks. That appointment belongs to the Account Holder and remains reserved whether one person attends or up to 10 participants attend together.
Each membership has one Account Holder. The Account Holder may attend personally or invite up to nine people to share any unused portion of the reserved appointment. The Account Holder does not need to be in attendance of the session to have their invited people use their session however the location must be within a few minutes drive of where they are. PQB Athletic invoices only the Account Holder. Any sharing of costs between participants is arranged privately by the Account Holder.
-
Unlike traditional personal training, PQB Athletic reserves a dedicated recurring appointment exclusively for your membership. Your Membership Fee purchases the reservation of trainer time rather than attendance at individual sessions. Once your appointment is reserved, it becomes unavailable to other Members.
This scheduling model allows us to consistently bring professional coaching directly to your home while keeping the same trainer, the same appointment and the same neighbourhood route each week.
-
Your recurring appointment belongs to you. Appointments cannot be cancelled, rescheduled, paused, frozen, exchanged or banked. If you cannot attend, another participant under your membership is welcome to use your appointment. If no participant attends, the appointment is forfeited. There are no vacation holds or membership freezes.
If four appointments are missed during your Trial Membership and those appointments are not attended by another participant under your membership, PQB Athletic may reassign your recurring appointment to another Member. Where possible, another recurring appointment will be offered.
-
If you are delayed, your trainer will remain on standby at a nearby coffee shop or suitable location within approximately ten minutes of your home for the remainder of your reserved appointment. They will not wait alone in your living room, or let themselves in. This is for the security of both parties.
Simply call or text when you are ready, and your trainer will return as soon as reasonably possible. Even if only 10 minutes remain in your appointment, that time is still yours to use, and should be used even if just to consult on your week of activity.
-
Your home is a judgement-free space. Toys on the floor, dishes in the sink, barking dogs, crying babies or the realities of everyday life are welcome training spaces.
Whether you're recovering from surgery, managing a health condition, rebuilding confidence, living with depression or simply getting started, you are welcome exactly as you are. We're there to support you, not add stress to your life that you have to have your home ‘ready’ for training together or have no interruptions.
You are welcome to take calls when they come during our appointment if needs be. Your trainer will continue the activity with you, unless you request privacy.
-
Your assigned trainer may change at any time due to illness, vacation, scheduling or operational requirements. All PQB Athletic trainers follow standardized coaching systems to ensure a consistent experience.
If your assigned trainer becomes unavailable, a qualified substitute trainer will be provided whenever possible. If a suitable substitute cannot be provided that you like, PQB Athletic will provide either a replacement session or a service credit until your regular trainer can return.
-
PQB Athletic supplies all equipment required for your training session unless otherwise agreed. Members are welcome to incorporate their own equipment into sessions where appropriate.
-
Members agree to provide a clean, neutral and safe area suitable for exercise. Sessions are generally conducted in living rooms, home gyms, garages, condominium fitness facilities or outdoor spaces.
Training sessions will not be conducted in private bedrooms or any location the trainer reasonably considers too personal for a professional service.
Training locations may be changed provided the new location is within 5 minutes drive of the originally booked scheduled route.
-
All PQB Athletic trainers are licensed, insured and have successfully completed criminal record screening before joining our team. To protect both our Members and our Trainers, we ask that Members remain present with their trainer throughout the appointment whenever reasonably possible.
As part of our workplace policy, trainers do not use client bathrooms and will wait outside the private home if a client uses their bathroom during session time or leaves training session area. Should a trainer reasonably believe a situation is unsafe, they may immediately end the session and leave the property.
-
Privacy is the foundation of PQB Athletic. Everything discussed, observed or disclosed during your training remains strictly confidential. We treat your privacy with the same respect expected in a professional healthcare environment.
We do not photograph, film or use our clients in advertising, social media or promotional materials. Any photographs or videos appearing on our website or marketing materials were created under previous contracts unrelated to PQB Athletic.
Our vehicles are intentionally discreet. While we may occasionally advertise that personal training is available in a neighbourhood, we never identify our clients or discuss who we train with neighbours, other Members or the public. Members and Guests may not audio or video record training sessions without the knowledge and consent of the trainer.
-
Personal training may require reasonable physical contact for spotting, posture correction, movement guidance and exercise instruction. Members may decline physical contact at any time and request verbal instruction instead.
Exercises may be modified or substituted based solely on professional judgement, safety, current ability, injury history and movement quality. PQB Athletic welcomes every Member equally.
-
Dogs, cats and all household pets are welcome. Children, babies, caregivers, relatives and other members of your household are welcome to be present during your session. If your pet enjoys company, one of our team dogs will happily visit with your pet during your training. Trainer dogs otherwise stay in the vehicle unless invited into your home.
-
Members and Guests are expected to conduct themselves as they would in any professional workplace. Conversation should remain respectful, appropriate for a working environment, and avoid political opinions, religious debate or other topics that are likely to be divisive or uncomfortable in a normal social setting. PQB Athletic reserves the right to redirect conversations to maintain a positive training environment.
Dress expectations for private in-home training differ from those of a public group fitness class or facility. Members and Guests are expected to wear athletic clothing appropriate for a professional private appointment. Swimwear is not permitted.
-
To receive the greatest benefit from your sessions, Members are encouraged to
Arrive ready to begin training promptly. Provide information about any movement restriction where available
Obtain medical assessment and physiotherapy exercises for any movement restrictions that do not have information behind them
PQB Athletic believes exercise restrictions should be based on informed clinical guidance whenever possible. For example, rather than simply avoiding deep squats because of knee pain, appropriate healthcare professional will provide information to improve this that can be implemented during your sessions.
Members are encouraged to use the time between personal training sessions to integrate clinical appointments between sessions so that your trainer can implement these guidelines and progress you.
Time spent arriving late, answering telephone calls, attending to personal matters and conversation forms part of the reserved appointment. The amount of time spent in conversation is guided by the Member. PQB Athletic does not extend appointments beyond the scheduled time to recover lost training time.
-
From time to time, PQB Athletic may provide complimentary benefits including additional training time, follow-up phone calls, family member updates, programming advice, educational resources or other support integrative to your training session.
These benefits are provided entirely at PQB Athletic's discretion, carry no cash value, cannot be exchanged for refunds or credits, and may be modified or withdrawn at any time based on availability and client needs.
